D' Jesus Trujillo graces the world with his own personal style on the red carpet and catwalk. He states, "It is all in the confidence." Trujillo brings his latin flare, confidence, and style to his walk anywhere.
"How did life’s journey bring you to television, runway training, and production?"
"I have always had a fascination with Style and Fashion. When I was in my teens, I moved to Mexico City to become an actor. My dream was to move to the United States and break into Hollywood. While studying at the Andreas Soler Academy I taught modeling and choreography to support my education. I realized that I had a passion for the industry and my desire to pursue this path as a career developed."
"After moving to California, I found it was a struggle just to survive. My resolve to succeed intensified not just for me, but to help others like me who have a passion for design, modeling and style. I wanted to prove to myself and show others that success can be achieved with focus, determination and patience. One night while watching Univision, I saw a feature on a Latina designer who made it big in the U.S. Her story inspired me to reach for the impossible and to never be ashamed of who I am or where I came from."
"As a business owner in the fashion and entertainment arena what one piece of insight would you share?"
"Never give up your dreams and never compromise who you are. Your uniqueness is one of your biggest assets."
"What are the changes to fashion shows and runways you have seen in the last few years?"
"Acceptance of and a trend toward more ‘real’ models. I am seeing more models who don’t fit the traditional ideals. Models who are shorter, plus sized, older and those who push traditional gender boundaries are becoming more common. I believe this is a healthy trend for the Industry and for the public."
"When looking for talent what are the top three items do you look for?"
"Personality. Charisma and personality is key to being able to sell a garment."
"Looks. Uniqueness or the 'X-Factor' needs to match the image of the designer and the garments that will be on the runway." Confident. All-inclusive walk and presence that will transform each garment into “fashion”
How does social media play in your business and training?
"Social Media is essentially primary to getting my image and my message out. It is invaluable for networking and for keeping up with fashion trends both in style and design. You cannot be successful today without a strong social media presence."
"Recently you had some cameos on Strut, produced by Whoopi Goldberg, what does this show bring to the transgender community and the fashion industry?"
"Strut is groundbreaking in showing that the Transgendered Community consists of people with normal lives who have the courage to be who they are. It provides courage and inspiration to an unimaginably huge population of people who struggle to find themselves and fully develop to their full potential regardless of the challenges they face in our culture. It also shows the status quo in the industry that it’s who you are, not what you are supposed to be that holds star potential."
"What is the one thing you do each morning to start off your day?"
"Each day I wake up, put my feet on the floor and thank God for the gift of another day in this life. Then I go to social media to review what’s come in overnight and to communicate with those who reach out to me. I review the latest fashion news about my friends and colleagues and begin to formulate a motivational message that I can send out to those who follow me."
"When was a time when an event went from stress to best?"
"Every event presents different challenges, from models who do not show up to missing accessories or shoes. No show ever goes off without unexpected events that must be dealt with. The key is to expect the unexpected and to improvise. The public doesn’t know the planned script so the final product is what’s important."
"Working fashion shows what is a typical day start to finish?"
"The day cannot start without my coffee! LOL Typically I begin by reviewing the lineup for the show, from garments to accessories to make sure everything is correct according to the models who are going to wear them."
"Next I have a meeting with the Team (keeping in mind that the show is based on teamwork). Review any last minute changes. Communication is important."
Check on hair and makeup to insure everyone knows their assignment and they have what they need to do their work." "Assign an assistant for each model."
"Rehearse each model so they know their timing and choreography on the runway."
"Coach individual models as needed"
"Review final preparations and make sure the team is ready for the show."

"Working with some of the top fashion magazines, fashion weeks, and photographers what does working behind scenes bring to the final production?"
"As with any production, what you see on stage is only the tip of the iceberg. There is so much talent, creativity, and intensity that takes place behind the scenes it’s really unbelievable. Working in a creative and cutting edge industry such as fashion requires quick and innovative thinking, coordination between designers, models, producers, hair and makeup artists, right down to those who take care of the coffee. Every person, no matter how seemingly insignificant to the final product, is essential to the success of that production. I am always amazed at the dedication of everyone involved and how it brings the final show together as a success"
"Image is an important addition with the rise in selfies what is one focus you think could improve a person’s image?"
"Confidence! Confidence with a bit of sassiness really provides the charisma that attracts others. Wear it, Own it, Sell it!" You present a great cohesive style."
"How did you discover your personal style?"
"My style comes from a desire to be sexy, sassy, and fun to work with. My inspiration comes from my native culture in Mexico. I seek ways to use and promote indigenous fashion in the mainstream. Being bold, confident and sometimes outrageous is what inspires me to create and to be who I am." Trujillo works this at each event, project, and runway he attends. We always looks to see the shoes that tie his personality, style, and confidence together. Many days on Facebook you will find a words of wisdom with a picture of one sexy shoe. He practice what he teaches each day."
Trujillo states, "I always encourage everyone to practice, practice, practice and to be comfortable with who you are. Have patience and remember, it’s not enough to dream. You have to take action for those dreams to become reality." He draws his influence from Coco Chanel.
Chanel demonstrates Trujillo's statement about never giving up. Chanel's life story is her determination, energy and ambition coming from nothing to big global success! His favorite quote from Chanel is, "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, in our ideas, the way we live, what is happening." Trujillo lives this each day.
He provides a vision to his life with his personal style, work ethic, and dedication. Keep an eye this year on social media to see the shoes that tie Trujillo's style, mission, and uniqueness to his inspiration.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at The Moxy in Tempe Arizona. A great anniversary staycation. The first night we were at the hotel we enjoyed an evening of exceptional Italian food, drinks, company, and beautiful fashion. This night was ours to savor and enjoy. This boutique hotel brings a location for the modern travel that is relaxed, peaceful, and fun.
The Moxy owned by Marriott is managed by 24/7 opened the first Moxy in Milan Italy. They currently have 7 opened through out the United States and Europe. The hotel concept is about an independent that wants to make the rules.
When we arrived check in takes place at the bar. The lobby looks a lot different from the first night. There is no runway, but a look and feel of entering your home. The check in takes place at the bar. The staff is young and causally dressed. The room comes with a complimentry cocktail called "The Moxy." This is a light refreshing lime-aide with a little kick.
The lobby is filled with travelers listening to records, playing pool, enjoying books, computer, 1980 video games, boardgames, and more. There is a nice pool that is heated for cooler winters. It is like being at home. A long table to sit and enjoy your meal with new friends. Commissioned art work fills the lobby. This selection took place through an online process.
We enter a room with casual styling. The decor is from Ikea and a LoveSack for relaxing. It is a decent sized room with an old fashioned phone with a number for bedtime stories. The bathroom is closed quarters, but a great shower with duel nozzles. You need extra towel or ironing they have an "ironing room" on each floor. Here you can get clean towels, linens, and iron a shirt. The was a very small patio and small is the key word. You can stand on the patio, but that is all it is super small. There was a great location to hang my hat and scarf. The hotel room is exceptionally clean.
The decor was fun and spirited. All doors have "disturb" painted on them. The Do Not Disturb sign has a nice looking half dressed man laying on a bed. The wall decor is thematic with great sayings on some pictures. The floors are wood with throw rugs. Loved this idea. Living in Phoenix there is very little need for the warmth from carpeting. The one downside in the room was the pillows. There is a long mirror perfect for getting ready for the evening. I did make the evening fun by dressing as a 1950 wife. Styling for the evening included: a dress purchased through Amazon. This was a first for me purchasing clothing online.
The dress was a knit black dress with a doll collar, hung just below the knee, and fit the theme for the evening very well, short black gloves with a pearl ring over the top, hair L'Oréal Techni Art Dual Styler, Jazzy eyeshadow, YBF lipstick, and Revlon powder. Completing the styling was my wedding vail and a set of pearls from my husband.
The ride down the elevator to the lobby included the ride a moment for a selfie. The elevator is equipped with selfie props and a couple of backdrops. Attach your photos with #AtTheMoxy and they show up on Instagram. This made for a wonderful memory and some fun photos.
The hotel restaurant is a self service collection. You help yourself to a wide selection of beverages, snacks, and quick meals. The kick is you "do it yourself." There are many great local restaurants in the are to enjoy. We enjoyed sushi at Kobe's. This was our first date. We enjoyed a nice glass of wine. We sat in the bar area just like our first date.
The evening closed out at the bar enjoying "The Moxy"Bacardi Cherry Rum infused cocktail with our traditional anniversary cake from Variations Bakery. It is a white cake (best sponge cake, banana filling, and whipped cream icing). The staff very helpful and they enjoyed our cake with us. The bar has a floating ceiling that comes from a reclaimed Kentucky horse barn/fence. It was great enjoying the bar after hearing the story from the architect who designed the hotel at the opening night party.
As we checked out of the hotel we left our names on the large chalkboard wall in the back of the lobby. Each section of the lobby is themed for the entertainment surrounding the area. There is a large working area with MAC computers. Towards the front of the lobby a large selection of records and a record player. The best of the lobby for me was the bikes you can take out for biking. This is a great location for bike riding with Tempe Town Lake and the college campus nearby. My husband was thrilled about the pool table in the lobby.
The hotel that brings a new wave of travel experiences. It was a great accommodating hotel with a ton of independence to experience our adventures. This hotel has been called a hostel type with an upgrade. This hotel is not a hostel with an upgrade, but a nice affordable boutique providing an independence traveler a beautiful stay.
We stopped on the way home at Harlow's Cafe for breakfast. This local restaurant is near the hotel. They offer a very straight forward traditional breakfast. The service was spot on, food that is tradition American Cafe menu. Conversations carried through the air with the smells of eggs, syrup, and coffee.
The weekend was such a great time away.

This evening the runway watched world wide is filled with beauty, fantasy, and excitement. Victoria's Secret, a lingerie company started by Roy Raymond, presents this seasons spectacular collection at Grand Palais. These 6 collection grace the runway with the top models and musicians in the world.
Performances include: Lady Gaga, The Weekend, and Bruno Mars. The performances brought an additional excitement to the runway fashion. Bruno Mars' "24K Magic" was a perfect song for the Bright Night Angel collection.
The Bright Night Angel collection included the $3 million dollar bra worn by Jasmine Tookes. This collection represents the sexy girl that want to have fun from sunset to sunrise. She dresses from head to toe in embellishments and stilettos for the night out. This collection closed out a night of romantic fashion that is set for many women on the road to love.
The road ahead collection represents a woman traveler. This traveled road is filled with the richness in culture, and history of ancient lands. The collection filled with details to the tradition. The attention to beading, feathers, and textures. This woman is looking for an exciting adventure in love.
The Secret Angel collection is looking for a sensual and seducing love. She relates to the old Hollywood tempting woman to steal your heart. The collection is much like a modern boudoir. The collection represents this with the long coats, long stockings, and designs that are captivating collection.
The most intriguing collection is the Mountain Romance. This brings a fun and playful nature down the runway. The collection is very traditional to an alpine maiden. The use of velvet, wools, and embroideries bring the collection to a true wholesome and a dancing maiden in a field of wildflowers.
A favorite collection is the empowerment collection Pink Nation. This collection has a sporty feel and look. The collection has a younger sense and energy. There is an attitude of I am woman hear me roar. It is a collection that is perfect for a girls weekend.
Dark Angel is exactly that. She is looking to be a bolder, in control, and a little wicked while standing strong. She is in charge and stands strong in her position. The collection is made from leather and latex. It had some simmer and shine on the runway.
This runway represented a strong diversity of women. The first time for sister to walk together in the show (Hadid sisters Bella and Gigi), and a pregnant Irina Shayk. There were familiar faces Kendall Jenner, Adriana Lima (she always gets the audience involved), and Alessandra Ambrosio. The evening was filled with beauty and fantasy.
